Born in Huamachuco, a province in the Peruvian Andes, Arturo demonstrated from an early age a deep interest in art and photography, seeing them as a means to explore and understand the cultural richness of the world. Fate led him to cross paths with the Shipibo-Konibo community of Cantagallo in Lima, where he became sensitized towards their struggle to preserve their culture and territory in the face of modern threats. This encounter deepened his connection with the Amazonian world and reinforced his commitment to cultural preservation. He founded “El Ambulante Audiovisual” as an itinerant space for audiovisual creation and exhibition, seeking to show the reality of the communities he visits.
